Here at Yoga Journal, we know you can’t just 'go with the yoga flow' and hope to get fit. While celebrating the massive rise of Vinyasa yoga’s popularity, we recognized that more education is needed around Vinyasa yoga to help people reach their goals safely.
Many have asked how we safeguard practitioners while empowering teachers and students alike to have a deeper experience in a flow class. To deliver on the yoga community’s need, Yoga Journal created the first-ever online fundamentals of vinyasa course lead by Master Teacher Eddie Modestini, a rare teacher blessed by both K. Pattabhi Jois and B.K.S. Iyengar.
The result: Our 'Vinyasa 101' course, including critical lessons on basic spinal anatomy as well as safe sequencing. 'Vinyasa 101' also offers adaptations for classical yoga poses allowing a range of body types and people with a range of flexibility to experience the physical release and stretch of poses otherwise unavailable to them. The course culminates with three open-level classes with creative, safe sequencing. Practice using these healing sequences or teach them in a studio near you.
Warm, inviting and rich instruction, married with the authentic, masterful practice knowledge of Modestini -- shot on location in Maui -- this course will profoundly change your practice or your teaching. It will be expertly aligned, and as a result safer and profoundly deeper than ever-before.
